30 Days of Thanksgiving : Day 13 ~ Compassion International to PERU……
{Grace-Gifts 1107-1115}
Seventeen years ago, my feet touched foreign soil for the first time. Tuxpan, Vera Cruz, Mexico was my destination, a land far from my small town home in Kentucky. A flight, followed by a short bus ride, landed me right in the middle of a life-changing experience. Missions became more than a check in an envelope. Missions became a face, a laugh, a smile, a touch, a life.
A year later, another mission opportunity fell into my undeserving lap. I was asked to go with two physicians to Lima, Peru where they were planning a week-long eye clinic. In addition to helping restore physical sight, we would be given a chance to share the LIGHT with a people who were spiritually blind. I couldn’t pass up the chance!
Both mission ventures birthed a desire within me that remains today.
Not only does it remain within me, but my husband (also a passionate lover of missions) and I are passing it to our son, Alex.
Since Mexico and Peru, I’ve been given opportunities to minister in Cambodia, England and Wales. What a life!!
My love for domestic and international missions was the perfect segway for my involvement with COMPASSION INTERNATIONAL.
This week, COMPASSION INTERNATIONAL is sending a team to PERU. While there, they’ll witness firsthand COMPASSION INTERNATIONAL‘s ministry to children in the highlands near Lima. You have the opportunity to share in the experience by:

For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’ ~ Mathew 25:35-40 (ESV)
