Five Minute Friday: Grasp

Five Minute Friday: Grasp

Here’s what we do on Fridays…

  • After receiving Lisa-Jo’s prompt, we write for 5 minutes flat ~ no editing, no over thinking, no backtracking.
  • Then, we link back here, inviting others to join in.
  • Finally, and there are absolutely, no ifs, ands or buts about it, you need to visit the person who linked up before you & encourage them in their comments. Seriously. That is, like, the rule. And the fun. And the heart of this community.
Five Minute Friday

Genesis 32:26

Go

Grasp.

My open hands reach out, grasping, holding, hoping.

I don’t want to let go.  I want to be Jacob in female form.

There’s a blessing. I know it’s here, near.

Waiting is difficult, but I grasp onto Him, begging.

The waves rock my spirit, but I don’t capsize.

I’m grasping, holding onto Him.

My feelings tell me quit, turn, go.

No, I grasp even tighter.

Bless me. Change me. Lead me.

I’m grasping, holding.

His hands take mine. They release.

Now, He’s holding. My grasp is in His and there’s peace.

Stop

I wish I could sit and listen to you in one of your Bible studies….I just know I would love to hear HOW you TALK Jesus! I cannot wait to meet you at Allume!

P.S. did you take that pic? #SoPretty AND did you edit it JUST now or did you PRE-pick what you would put in the post? You are fast!

    • StefanieYoungBrown

      You’re so sweet, Lindsey:))
Recently, I’ve been using pics from Pinterest. I simply haven’t had a lot of time to take my own. I choose a pic and edit it some myself. On Fridays, I have everything ready on my post including a picture I want to use. All I have to do is fill in the blanks when the prompt is posted. It quickens the process:))
      Thank you!

  • Tammy_Skipper

I love it! “that is like, the rule” – truth! But I also love that what you wrote tonight is exactly. where. I. am. Thank you for writing.

    • StefanieYoungBrown

Thank you, Tammy, and you’re welcome.
I love moments where what someone shares and it’s exactly what I needed to hear. God is so good!

There are times when I feel like the woman who wanted to touch the hem in Jesus’s robe. I know that He has me in His grip, but it is so comforting to reach out and hold onto Him, too!

    • StefanieYoungBrown

      Absolutely, Mindy!

What a beautiful prayer offering. It’s worship. You wrote worship to God here. May we live these words out every moment of everyday. I love your heart. You are a light in this dark world. You have such a beautiful voice. May God use it to bring multitudes to Him.

Blessings friend, I cannot wait to connect in real life :)

I am a champion world class wrestler, at least when it comes to God. Praying for wisdom to know which things to wrestle and which to lie still while he carries. Thanks for sharing your journey.

    • StefanieYoungBrown

I think, at times, I could compete for the “champion world class wrestler” belt. Praying to wisdom, too, my friend!

  • http://twitter.com/WeLiveInspired Rebekah

A female Jacob. Yes! The word picture you wrote today was powerful.

  • Wendy Douglas

Oh my heart…sweet friend I am reaching for Him with you and so thankful for your words today. Thank you for sharing them. Love you much.

  • http://www.dianadenis.com/ Diana Denis

I don’t know how you do it. I could not compose such beautiful thoughts in 5 minutes. It would likely be 5 years. The visual is beautiful; there is such peace when our hands and our life are in His hands.
btw, a female Jacob? LOVE THAT!
