Proverbs 31 Ministries She Speaks Conference 2012 Take Aways…

Words are powerful.

They influence.

They encourage.

They inspire.

The words spoken at the Proverbs 31 Ministries She Speaks Conference 2012 accomplished all three in my life.  By the end of the conference, I found myself influenced ~ challenged to find out why I do what I do.  I felt encouraged ~ realizing I’m not alone when it comes to the trials life brings.  I left inspired ~ trusting in my calling while nailing down some of its specifics.  It was an outstanding experience.

Throughout the weekend, as speaker after speaker took the podium, graceful words flowed.  Below are 10 of the most impactful statements and thoughts I took away from She Speaks.

{10}  “Become a responsible steward of (our) message.  Not only are we to present a problem, but we should present the answer or solution that has worked for us.” ~ Lysa TerKeurst, President, Proverbs 31 Ministries, Author, Speaker, Mom, Wife

{9}  “Be careful what you look through, it determines what you see.” ~ Renée Swope, Executive Director of Radio Devotions, Proverbs 31 Ministries, Author, Speaker, Mom, Wife

{8}  “Is there any place where I’m not living with hands wide open?” ~ Renée Swope

{7}  In regards to women’s ministry, “Create an environment which draws women closer to the heart of God.” ~ Lisa Allen, Certified Life Coach, Certified Speaker and DISC Consultant at L.J. Allen Coaching and Consulting, Proverbs 31 Ministries She Speaks Conference 2012 Ministry Team

{6}  “Staying Encouraged in the Midst of Discouragement” Session ~ LuAnn Prater, Proverbs 31 Ministries She Speaks Conference 2012 Ministry Team

  1. Choose to fix my eyes on HIM
  2. Focus on where He has taken me
  3. Persevere

{5}  “Writer’s write.  STOP ignoring the voice.” ~ Emily P. Freeman, Writer, Speaker, Listener, Mom, Wife, Mother, Proverbs 31 Ministries She Speaks Conference 2012 Speaker

{4}  “When we focus on our platform, the lights get into our eyes.” ~ Emily P. Freeman

{3}  “The place you’ve been wounded the deepest is the very thing God can use to minister to others.” ~ Tom Davis, HopeChest, an international orphan ministry connecting churches, businesses and social networks into long-term partnerships with communities of orphans.

{2}  “But my eyes are fixed on you, Sovereign Lord;
in you I take refuge —do not give me over to death.” ~ Psalm 141:8 (NIV)

{1}  “Make God famous.” ~ Karen Ehman, Director of the Proverbs 31 Ministries national speaking team, Author, Wife, Mom

For all my She Speaks sisters (both from this year as well as earlier years), what did you take away from the conference(s) you’ve been blessed to attend?  What inspired you?  Challenged you?  Influenced you?

Maybe you’ve had the pleasure of attending other events such as Relevant (now Allume), Women of Faith or Girls of Grace.  What did you walk away with?  What spoke to you?  What changed you?

Please share.  You have something to say and we’re ready to listen.

Blessed to link with Angie at Top Ten Tuesday and Tuesday Treasures

One of these years, I hope to attend.  Thank you for posting your take aways for us to read.  I love Lysa.  She is so inspiring and is the person who encouraged me to blog on a more regular basis when I was just dabbling for too long.
