Grace Soaked…

Alex and I love the water!  We love the water park (slides and all), swimming with friends (in their “Pinterest” backyard) as well as his private swim lessons twice weekly (his goal is to begin competing this fall).  We love the sun and fun, especially when we share it together.

Visiting the water park is triple the fun for me. In addition to water fun and tanning, I enjoy people watching.  Being there is like being in an outdoor airport.  It’s the most amazing form of reality TV available.  At the moment the above picture was taken, however, I was drawn less to those around me and more on the giant emptying bucket of water.  As the bucket tipped and the water fell, GRACE kept circling my head.

Grace…

18 years ago grace fell on me. Heaven opened, Jesus met me and grace graced me.  Like the children looking up, patiently waiting for wet fun to fall, I looked up, desperate for relief and rescue.  Like the thrilling flow of cool water, the sacred stream of grace poured.

Grace soaked me.

Head to toe, grace soaked me.

When I opened my eyes, this is what I found:

Grace is sufficient…

“”My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” ~ 2 Corinthians 12:9 (NIV)

Grace is a gift…

“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,” ~ Ephesians 2:8 (ESV)

Grace, not works…

“For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.” ~ Ephesians 2:8,9 (NKJV)

Grace costs…

“but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” ~ Romans 5:8 (ESV)

Grace made me…

“But whatever I am now, it is all because God poured out his special favor on me—and not without results. For I have worked harder than any of the other apostles; yet it was not I but God who was working through me by his grace.” ~ 1 Corinthians 15:10 (NLT)

Grace…

God’s Riches at Christ’s Expense…

Grace…

He substituted for Me…

Grace…

Given. Granted. Welcomed. Received.
