Five Minute Friday: My Misread PERSPECTIVE Turns Into Perseverance…

{Five Minute Friday: PERSEVERANCE}

On Fridays over here a group of people who love to throw caution to the wind and just write gather to share what five minutes buys them. Just five minutes. Unscripted. Unedited. Real.

This week, I misread our word as PERSEVERANCE instead of perspective.  I thought it so timely, I went with it.

Go

At 11:26 pm last night I tried to begin this post.  I pulled up The Gypsy Mama’s site to find out the Five Minute Friday word, hoping to post earlier rather than later.  Unfortunately, I was unable to persevere through the emotional, mental and physical exhaustion I am currently experiencing.  I stared at a blank post page for a few minutes before deciding to close up and go to sleep.

Perseverance.

God’s word for me today.

God’s calling my husband and I to persevere through a rather difficult time.  I’d be less than honest if I didn’t admit there have been times I wanted to close the proverbial laptop and go to sleep.  I share my heart with Dan.  I’m share my heart with my Father.

Then, HE speaks…

“In the perseverance you’ll find my perfect will.”

Above all, that’s what I want.  I want to walk, live, and breath in the perfect will of God.  I don’t want his permissive will, because that is not perfect.  I want the perfected will of my Father.

So, I persevere…

In the midst of it, His word soothes my aching, exhausted soul…

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you.
When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned,
Nor shall the flame scorch you. ~ Isaiah 43:2 (NKJV)

So, I persevere…

STOP

       My sweet friend… Staying the course is our only option, too.  We’re trusting relying wholeheartedly.  Thank you for your prayers.  Trust me, you’ve got mine from this end.

    Praying for you to rest in God through this…sounds very difficult. I think of James 1:2-12 when I hear perseverance and I still struggle with joy in trials…changing my perspective in hard times. So glad you are hanging on in Christ and I pray for Him to give you rest and strength in this season of life.

    I am always amazed at the different takes on a single word and how God speaks to us – What a new “perspective” :) God help you through this difficult time. He is clearly speaking to you.

    Dear Stephanie,

    Thank you for sharing your post on perseverance.   You are right…I don’t want God’s permissive will for my life, but His perfect will.   Amen and amen!

     I seek God in different situations and ask Him to allow His perfect will to be done then when it doesn’t happen the way I  want I have to question – did I pray hard enough, did my faith waver that my prayer wasn’t heard, why didn’t God answer the way I wanted Him to?  Then I’m reminded that His ways are not my ways and His thoughts not my thoughts.  He sees the whole picture, but I only see it from my human perspective.  Our God is holy, just, loving, and wants only His perfect will and best for us so that He can use us for His purposes.  I have been where you are and God never fails.  He will walk you through this period in your life and in time show you His beautiful path that He has for you to walk.  He doesn’t allow anything to come into your life that He’s not using to conform to the image of His Son.  When I don’t understand He ask me to trust Him and that I can do.  I’m so glad that Proverbs 3:5,6 tells me that if I trust in the Lord with all my heart and lean not to my own understanding and in all my ways if I will acknowledge Him He will direct my path.  That’s such a great comfort so cling to the Word and His promises and He promises His peace will come.  You are in my prayers and I am asking God to lead you and Dan down the path that He has that only you two can accomplish for His kingdom.
