UpLIFTing GIFTing ~ In EVERYTHING There Is Eucharisteo…

In EVERYTHING There Is Eucharisteo… {tweet this}

This week I found myself intentionally claiming 1 Thessalonians 5:18, “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”  My plans ~ a week of food, family, and fun ~ turned out to be a week of flu, fever, and fatigue, a twist I did not foresee.

After opening my eyes Saturday morning, I knew immediately something wasn’t just right. Body aches and pains greeted, soon accompanied by their nasty cousin, cough.  Cousin cough welcomed neighboring fever which zapped what little strength I had, leaving me fatigued, curled up in a sick little ball.

The week wasn’t supposed to begin this way.  It was spring break and we looked forward to having our little man home with us for nine days straight. No agenda, no plans, just time.  Then, the unexpected, the unwelcome, the unwanted.

Thankfully, my family doesn’t mind being home.  Our ministry takes us on the road quite a bit.  We love travel, but we love being home together more.  Even though I was sick for more than half of the week, the time home, resting, working puzzles, watching movies, reading books, and playing Lego’s was just what the doctor ordered.

In everything give thanks…

In EVERYTHING there is eucharisteo…

Although my first thoughts were filled with frustration and aggravation, they soon turned to joy, thankfulness and appreciation.

3 gifts found in silence:

  • 635.  quiet mornings sleeping in gave me needed rest…
