Top Ten Tuesday ~ Ten Bible Verses on Strength to Pray Over Your Spouse…

Today’s 31 Days to Pray for Our Spouses prayer topic is STRENGTH.

While my husband, Dan, has many amazingly wonderful qualities, his strength and resolve are two of most admirable and appreciated.  There are times, however, when his Super-Man cape gets a little wrinkled and his Batman signal shines a tad dimmer.  There are moments when his strength runs a little low and his resolve is not as stellar.   He needs me to pray for his strength.  Your spouse needs YOU to pray for their strength.

Here are my Top Ten Tuesday verses on strength which we can pray over our spouses…

{Ten}  Seek the LORD and his strength, seek his face continually. ~ 1 Chronicles 16:11 (KJV)

Father, may Dan realize his strength comes from you.  May he seek you continually, receiving power from on high.  Empower him, Father…

{Nine}  The eyes of the Lord search the whole earth in order to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him. ~ 2 Chronicles 16:9 (NLT)

Father, may my spouse’s heart remain fully committed to you.  May he receive the strength you promise to those who are fully and totally committed.

{Eight}  It is God who arms me with strength and keeps my way secure. ~ Psalm 18:32 (NIV)

Father, may my husband always remember it is YOU who strengthens him and protects his way.  May he fully and humbly rely on your arms of strength.

{Seven}  The LORD is my strength and my shield… ~ Psalm 28:7 (NIV)

Father, may my spouse remember YOU are his strength and his shield of protection.  May he fully depend upon you.

{Six}  Search for the Lord and for his strength; continually seek him. ~ Psalm 105:4 (NLT)

Father, may Dan seek you continually.  May he pursue you, intentionally,  on purpose.  As he does, please supernaturally strengthen him.

{Five}  My soul is weary with sorrow; strengthen me according to your word. ~ Psalm 119:28 (NIV)

Father, when my husband walks in weariness, may your word strengthen and renew his spirit.

{Four}  Surely God is my salvation; I will trust and not be afraid.  The LORD, the LORD himself, is my strength and my defense; he has become my salvation. ~ Isaiah 12:2 (NIV)

Father, you are our salvation.  May Dan embrace you, trust you and not fear.  Strengthen him and defend him.

{Three}  I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. ~ Philippians 4:13 (NKJV)

Father, please remind my spouse that in and through you, he can do anything! Your strength enables us, compels us, empowers us.

{Two}  My body and my mind may become weak, but God is my strength.  He is mine forever. ~ Psalm 73:26 (NCV)

Father, there will be times when Dan’s body and mind will weaken.  In that moment, may he be reminded you are his source of strength.  You are his forever.

{One}  But you, LORD, do not be far from me.  You are my strength; come quickly to help me. ~ Psalm 22:19 (NIV)

Father, you are never out of range.  May Dan remember when he calls upon you, needing your strength, may he remember you respond quickly.  You’re always ready and waiting to hear us call out to you.

Now, you try…  If possible, have a photo of your spouse in which you can lay your hands on as your pray.  It’s just another way to keep them right before you.
