Thanksgiving at Disney ~ 2010

This year our family chose a rather non-traditional Thanksgiving.  Because we rarely get away for “fun and relaxation”, we chose to celebrate Thanksgiving at DISNEY WORLD in Orlando, FL.  Fun, absolutely.  Relaxing, well…

You may be asking yourself “Why Disney on Thanksgiving?”  The answer is simple and found in the photo above ~ Alex Daniel Brown.  The choice was really an easy one.  Like you, we emphasize what we are thankful for during the Thanksgiving holiday.  We understand the holiday is not the only time to express thankfulness, but we all enjoy sharing around the dinner table.  8 years ago I found out I was expecting. This was after both my OB/GYM and an infertility specialist told Dan and me I had a better chance of winning the lottery (which we don’t actually play) than ever getting pregnant.  8 months later I gave birth to a healthy 9 lb, 1 oz. baby boy.  Our “little man”, now 7 years old,  LOVES Disney characters; hence, the DISNEY Thanksgiving!

One our of favorite characters is INDIANA JONES.  Disney has an unbelievable display of action scenes from each movie as an event.  We were thrilled as we watched stunt after stunt, reliving scenes from each of the 4 movies we have grown to love.  It was incredible!

We enjoyed meeting Leo from the LITTLE EINSTEINS, as well as the rest of the cast, all the PLAYHOUSE DISNEY characters along with the tools from HANDY MANNY and Manny!  What fun!

Alex loved the KILIMANJARO SAFARI at Disney’s Animal Kingdom!  Lions, Tigers, Giraffes and Elephant’s top the list of animals viewed from our Jeep.

It looks as though Alex is auditioning for SWAMP PEOPLE.

THE FESTIVAL OF THE LION KING Musical was AMAZING!  The music was out of this world , the costumes beyond descript and the animal characters stunning.  What an EVENT!  Here is Simba…

Here’s Elephant…

Here’s Timon…

An example of the stunning costumes featured…

After THE FESTIVAL OF THE LION KING we dove down under to find Nemo in FINDING NEMO ~ The Musical.  It was truly magical!

Bruce ~ Alex’s favorite character in Nemo.

We were the Thanksgiving Day Dinner guests of Daffy and the crew.

Minnie Mouse was such a gracious hostess.

Pluto helped make Thanksgiving Dinner really fun!

Mickey Mouse was an amazing host!

Cowboy Goofy made us feel right at home!

Alex and one of his favorites ~ Chip.  But where’s Dale?

Ah, here he is!

At the end of the day, the week, in fact, we had an amazing Thanksgiving Holiday! We are blessed!
